We've developed this switch kit to make changing financial institutions as quick and painless as possible. Follow these steps to simplify the process:
Step 1: Open a Linn Area Credit Union account.
Stop by any Linn Area Credit Union location to open your new account. If you prefer, complete the membership application* before your visit to shorten the process.
Step 2: Redirect automatic payments and direct deposits to Linn Area Credit Union.
Our financial counselors have switch forms to help you redirect all of your automatic deposits and withdrawals to your new account.
If you prefer, print off the following forms to notify companies that you have switched financial institutions.
Automatic Payments* - to switch automatic payments to your new Linn Area Credit Union account
Step 3: Stop using your old account(s) if you haven't already.
Once all outstanding checks have cleared, your old account and all automatic payments and debits have been transferred, instruct your old bank to close the account with this letter:
Account Closing* - to notify your old bank that you are closing your account(s).
Step 4: Use your Linn Area Credit Union account.
Monitor your account with our free online banking program (Home Financial Services) to know when all automatic payments and debits have been transferred to your new Linn Area Credit Union account.
