Everyone is entitled to one free copy of their credit report each year. It’s a good idea to check your credit report to make sure everything on there is correct and to monitor for fraudulent activity. We encourage all of our members to take advantage of this free service.
To order your free copy, call 1-877-322-8228 or go to www.annualcreditreport.com. The report will show your credit history but not your credit score. If you would like to receive your credit score, you can have it added to your report for $6.95.
Once you receive your copy, go through it closely. It will list each credit card and loan you’ve had recently, will give a breakdown of your payment history, and will show the companies that have reviewed your credit file. If a listing doesn’t make sense you can call the business and report the inaccurate listing to the credit bureaus.
If you see something that makes you suspect that someone is/was stealing your identity, contact all three of the credit reporting agencies immediately. Experian Equifax TransUnion
