Own a credit union.
Open a savings account with at least $5 in it and you own a part of Linn Area Credit Union. As long as you maintain a $5 minimum balance, you can take advantage of Linn Area’s services and be a part of our credit union family. (Five dollars to own part of a financial institution is pretty cool, don’t you think?) If you ever close your account, you can withdraw the $5.

How to join the family
It might be easier than you think to join Linn Area Credit Union. We’ve made it possible for you to be eligible for membership by meeting any of the following requirements:
- You live or work in one of the following 22 counties in Iowa:
Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Cedar, Clayton, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Poweshiek, Scott, Tama or Washington.
- You’re related to an existing member.
For reals! For example, if you live in Florida (we admit, we’re a wee bit jealous) but your Brother Bob is a member of LACU, you’re eligible!
An important note is that once you’re a member, you can always remain a member. Even if you move to Timbuktu (it’s a real place – we checked), you can still be a part of the Linn Area family. Advancements in technology make this pretty easy.
Let’s get you started, shall we? It should only take about 10 minutes to open an account online! We’d love to have you join us!
