Community Service in July 2023

We love making a difference in our communities… and July was quite a busy month! During one of our Thursday training sessions, our entire staff got the creative juices flowing and made cards for Gems of Hope, a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing support and hope to cancer patients and their families.

On Friday, July 7, Linn Area Credit Union’s senior management team popped on the hairnets and served meals to those in need at Mission of Hope in Cedar Rapids. We also donated $500 to help cover the cost of future meals.

We were back in action for Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity’s inaugural Bankers Build in July! In May, six Linn Area volunteers helped build walls for the house; this month, ten employees volunteered to help paint the interior. (It was extra special to see everything come together for a future family in need!) We really enjoyed working hand in hand with Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity on this project. As proud sponsors, we couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of making this dream home a reality!

Volunteers from our Marion branch have been taking care of the Hanna Park flowerbed this summer! A volunteer program managed by the City of Marion, Adopt-A-Flowerbed encourages giving back to the community and helping beautify the city. All their hard work has really paid off — the Hanna Park flowerbed is a joy to see!
