On November 12, we lost a beloved member of our Linn Area family in a tragic accident. Bonnie Stover was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and a source of inspiration for us all. She lived a life of gratitude and unconditional love for all those she encountered. Bonnie gave selflessly to others and was a constant beacon of positivity and light in this world.

Bonnie began her Linn Area Credit Union career as an Account Representative in 2008. She was promoted to Financial Services Representative in 2011, and, a year later, to Senior Financial Services Representative. Bonnie led the Mount Vernon Road branch team for a few years, and, in 2018, she became Branch Manager at our Blairs Ferry Road location.

Bonnie’s passion for helping people led her to become a certified Financial Coach in May 2021. As a Financial Coach, she held personalized coaching sessions to help guide members toward financial wellbeing. With her enthusiasm for improving our members’ lives, Bonnie also devoted much time and energy to developing Linn Area Credit Union’s Financial Coaching program.

Bonnie served as a positive role model and mentor to Linn Area family members throughout the organization, personifying Linn Area Credit Union’s core principles of respect, service, integrity, growth, and leadership. Her dedication to the credit union and our members will leave a lasting impact.

With her servant heart, Bonnie was passionate about giving back to her community. She served on Gems of Hope’s Board of Directors and was involved with many other nonprofits, including the MS Foundation; Habitat for Humanity Builds; Meals on Wheels; The Salvation Army; Teacher Store; Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA); Young Parents Network (YPN); and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Over the years, Bonnie served on several Linn Area committees, including the donation committee, where she helped direct Linn Area’s funding and volunteer efforts for local nonprofit organizations. Bonnie’s legacy of volunteerism, positive messages, thoughtfulness, and always putting others first will never be forgotten.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by our Linn Area Credit Union family. Our hearts are with her husband, Shawn; her daughters, Colette, Molly, and Kara; her parents, Terry and Diane Anding; her mother-in-law, Judy Stover; her sister, Tammy Nowicki, and twin sister Brenda Ulin, and their families; and her brothers, Mike and Tim Anding, and their families; her extended family and all who loved her.
