Linn Area Credit Union was pleased to host the 33rd annual Credit Union Loves Kids golf tournament presented by StateNational on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser was attended by 80 golfers and supported by 29 sponsors, including credit unions, area businesses, realtors, and credit-union industry vendors. Between the golfers’ contributions and business sponsorships, the event raised just over $19,000 for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Our special guests this year were Kinley Albrecht and her mom, Katie. The Albrecht family was chosen as one of five UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital Champion Families. Kinley started the day off right by sinking the first putt to officially begin the outing. Kinley and her mom spent the day with us meeting all the golfers and posing for photographs. Kinley was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on October 1, 2017, and spent 802 days in the hospital. On December 12, 2019, Kinley finished her last chemo treatment. See Kinley’s full story.
