Linn Area Credit Union was pleased to host the 32nd annual Credit Union Loves Kids golf tournament on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Andrews Golf Course. The Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser was attended by 92 golfers and supported by 17 sponsors, including credit unions, area businesses, realtors, and credit-union industry vendors. Between the golfers’ contributions and business sponsorships, the event raised nearly $18,000 for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
The golf tournament was kicked off with a brief presentation by Sunnie Amelon from the University of Iowa Center for Advancement and Brittany Kron, whose son, Nile, was named the 9th Ace Cares for Kids All-Star by the Ace Hardware Foundation in February. Hearing-impaired since birth, Nile received cochlear implants at the age of two and is still receiving periodic treatments at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
