Linn Area Supports School Pantries

Linn Area Credit Union donated $4,000 to local schools to help stock their pantries with food and other necessities for area students and their families.

The $500 donations were given to food pantries at eight Cedar Rapids schools: Washington High School; McKinley Steam Academy; Metro High School; Roosevelt Creative Corridor Business Academy; Grant Wood Elementary; Van Buren Elementary; Hoover Elementary; and Madison Elementary.

Linn Area Credit Union was originally the Cedar Rapids Teachers’ Credit Union — that’s just one of the reasons we consistently support local schools, students, and educators. We’re also the driving force behind the Teacher Store, a nonprofit organization that supports our communities by providing free classroom materials and supplies to area K-12 educators and their students.

“As a member-owned financial co-op, Linn Area Credit Union is all about putting into action the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” said Paula O’Rourke, President/CEO of Linn Area Credit Union. “We’re passionate about supporting schools and lending a helping hand to these types of programs, like school food pantries, that are crucial in helping kids and families in need.”
