During the week of March 21, Linn Area employees volunteered for Together We Achieve, a local nonprofit founded in response to the August 2020 derecho. The organization helps to bridge the gap for those in need by providing food, personal care/hygiene items, and household care/cleaning supplies.
Twenty-three Linn Area team members collectively volunteered more than 61 hours spread across five days, assembling and taping hundreds of cardboard boxes; filling boxes with food and other essentials; and handing out the boxed supplies to people who came to the weekend food distribution event. To state the obvious, assistance with food and other necessities is still very much needed in our communities.
For Easter, Together We Achieve held a fundraiser called Egg My Yard where individuals could make a donation and have candy-filled Easter eggs placed in their yard (or in a family member’s or friend’s yard). On the Saturday before Easter, a couple of our Linn Area team members spread more than 500 eggs for 14 different houses!
We had a blast volunteering for this great and worthy organization!
