A wire transfer is usually the quickest method of transferring money from one person or financial institution to another since it’s electronic. You can wire funds anywhere throughout the United States as well as to many places internationally. You can also receive incoming wires into your account.
How to send a wire transfer:
The first step is to get wiring instructions from the person or business you are wiring money to. They will need to call their financial institution and ask for their wiring instructions. Be sure to get the receiving financial institution’s name, address and routing number. You’ll also need the full name of the person or business who is receiving the wired funds along with their account number.
Once you have this information, stop by any Linn Area branch or give us a call and explain that you’d like to set up a wire transfer. State that you have the wiring instructions from the receiving financial.
Linn Area Credit Union charges a $20.00 fee to wire within the United States and $50.00 for international wires.
Cutoff time for outgoing international wire: 1pm
Cutoff time for outgoing domestic wire: 2pm

Note: There is no guarantee on how long a wire will take. It can happen on the same day if the funds are wired early and the wiring instructions are accurate.

To receive a foreign wire transfer, please provide the following information to the business or individual sending the wire. Please note: There are two sets of info! One is for receiving U.S. dollars, and the other is for receiving foreign funds. Be sure to provide the correct information.
