Linn Area Credit Union supports Apple Pay!

Apple Pay® is a mobile payments solution that lets you make credit and debit payments at retail and in-app checkouts using certain Apple® mobile devices.

You can start using Apple Pay to make purchases as soon as you add your Linn Area credit or debit card to Wallet. Here’s what you need:

  • iPhone® 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and later (Apple Pay in stores and within apps)
  • iPad ProTM, iPad Air® 2, or iPad miniTM 3 and later (Apple Pay within apps)
  • iOS 8.1 or later
  • Touch ID® or passcode on your device
  • An Apple ID signed in to iCloud®

How does Apple Pay work?

The 16-digit account number on your credit or debit card is replaced with a unique digital account number, or token, that is securely stored on the Apple device and used to make purchases. Your credit or debit card number is not stored on your Apple device or on Apple servers.

How will Apple Pay keep my information secure?

When adding a credit or debit card to Apple Pay, instead of using your actual card number, a unique digital account number, or token, is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in your Apple Pay-compatible device. When you make a purchase, the digital account number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment. Your actual credit or debit card number is never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.

Which merchants currently accept Apple Pay?

You can use Apple Pay at more than 220,000 locations, including McDonald’s®, Petco®, Subway®, and Staples®. Look for the Pay Wave® or Apple Pay symbol at checkout.
